Blogger Communities
You can have the best blog in the world, but it will be useless to you if you don’t get people regularly visiting it. There are many ways to generate traffic to your blog, but one of the ways that I find works quite well, and is quite fun at the same time, is joining and being active in a blogger’s community.
What is a blogger’s community? A blogger’s community is essentially a club, there are lots of different clubs that you can join, but the basic purpose for joining is the same, to meet other bloggers, make friends, exchange links and reviews, and create a buzz for your blog.
The procedure is quite simple. I would suggest that you start with one community that you know you can be quite active in. The reason for this is that if you sign up with all the blogging communities out there, you won’t be able to be on top of them all, and if you try, you could easily get quite discouraged and eventually quit all together. So start with one that you’re comfortable with and be as active as you can.
Here’s a list of some of the most popular ones:
Personaly, I like MyBlogLog and I would definately recommend it. Join up, register your blog, and start promoting.
There’s a few ways to promote. Start by searching for other blogs like yours and join their groups, you should get some hits this way. You can also look for other bloggers with similar interests and become friends with them, most of the time the blogger will reciprocate this. And last but not least, leave a lot of comments.
That should get you started, you can easily figure out the ropes from here, and once you’re comfortable, sign up for some of the other ones.
